Skardu is beautiful just because of their natural beauty. The presence of  Lakes, cold desert, resorts, blue water and high mountains, suspension bridges, lush green vegetation, historical forts make the valley of Skardu a definitive of natural beauty.



Skardu road is most difficult road in Gilgit Baltistan. The road runs along the Indus River moreover in some places the road is only wide enough for one vehicle. Indeed, difficult roads leads to beautiful destinations. After 8 hours’ drive you can see worth watching views

Places to visit in Skardu

Deosai National Park :
Deosai National Park, is located between Kharmang, Astore and Skardu. In winters, it is covered by snow for seven months and in spring, it is covered by lush green grass, beautiful flowers and butterflies.

Kharphocho Fort:
Kharphocho Fort was built by Ali Sher Anchan. He is famous Balti King who ruled the region in 17th century. To reach this fort you have to trek 30 minutes to the up hill and after you can see an eye catching view of the city. In Balti, Kharpocho means the King of Forts.

Manthal Buddha rock :

Manthal Buddha Rock is located in Manthal village of Skardu.These rocks are one of the important and historical part of Buddhism in Skardu. It is about 3 kilometers from Sadpara Road.

Katpana Desert

Katpana Desert is also known as cold desert. This desert contain large amount of sand due to heavy snowfall in Skardu the sand covered by the snow. It is probably the highest desert in the world. Blackish grey rocky mountains, suburbs and bushes also increases the beauty of this deserts.

Manthokha water fall :

A beautiful tourist spot in Kharmang Valley is Manthoka waterfall. It's a relaxing sight for the eyes. This area is quite peaceful with one water stream coming uphill’s while this main stream was channelized and it has become a huge waterfall.
